Inventory adjustments are made because there is a discrepancy between the physical stock quantity quantities and the system stock quantity in the system quantities for a given product. Adjustments allow the warehouse adjust quantities for freight that has been damaged, adjust quantities for missing freight, and/or adjust quantities for found freight. Typically discrepancies or damages are found during a cycle count. The frequency and type of cycle counts depend on the client’s SOP.
