Typically used to separate prime locations from bulk location.
Location Profile
Grouping multiple locations in JASCI that share similar qualities.
How it Works:
EXAMPLE 1: A warehouse that has security cages and uses them to store high value items such as watches, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. The security cages would be represented by the ‘Location Profile’.
Things to Consider:
For the slotting to accurately work, the product category of the product has to tie in with the location profiles. The product category is initially assigned when creating/importing the product into the WMS. The product category represents a group of item(s) that will be stored into the location profile. If watches, necklaces, bracelets, and rings are being stored in the security cages we can create a general code (product category general code) named ‘High Value' which would be assigned to all watches, necklaces, bracelets, and rings.
The system now understands that the ‘security cages’ (profile location) will store 'high value' products (watches, necklaces, bracelets, and rings) in any warehouse location that has the ‘security cages’ location profile assigned.
