Invalid Carrier Code error message from CBP

Problem

Receiving “021 - Invalid Carrier code” message from CBP while transmitting AIR AMS messages

Solution

  1. Verify the carrier code used within the flight number is correct IATA code for the airline

  2. If correct, verify whether IATA code ends in 0-9. This is not supported by CBP. Change the code to ICAO format - Three Letter Designator issued to the incoming air carrier by the transport authority in the country of registry
