Cartonization, allows JASCI to pre-determine what size shipping container(s)/carton(s) the order will be packed into based on the product master’s weight and dimensions. Cartionization occurs after allocation and before picking an order.
Cartonization occurs after JASCI has assigned a work type and has allocated the stock to fulfill the order. JASCI utilizes the product master’s data for weight and dimensions (in cubes) and compares the stored data of the shipping container(s)/carton(s) to cartonize.
There are three different options in which cartonization logic takes place:
If the orders weight and/or cube exceeds the largest container size, JASCI will split the order into multiple works and assign the cartons accordingly.
If the orders weight and/or cube does not exceed the largest container size, JASCI will assign the carton that fits the weight and cube size.
The operator can override the shipping container/carton assigned by JASCI if the cartonization does not work the order.
