WMS FIFO, Lot No, Best Before Date Guidelines

FIFO and FEFO Settings (First In/Expiring, First Out)

A SEKO360 Company record can be configured as FIFO. This is done in Client Settings in the admin section. There are a few guidelines about using FIFO against the company.

If FIFO is selected as shown in the image below, this will override any input about Lot or Best Before Date (BBD) control being added through the Product Master. This is because by virtue of selecting FIFO controlled, every product will be controlled by Lot and Date.

It is important to ensure the FIFO controlled setting is configured prior to loading any Product Master records.

Updating Company FIFO Configuration

If FIFO is configured and it is subsequently deselected in the configuration, any product masters which have been added prior to deselection will still have Lot controlled and Date controlled set. This cannot be unset through the system and a Support ticket must be raised. Click SEKO360 Support Desk to create a request.

Best Before Dates in Dispatch

Best Before Dates are used in dispatch on the basis of FEFO (First Expiry, First Out). This ensures a smooth flow of goods by sending those with the earliest expiry date.

ASN Arrivals/Receipts

When a product is Best Before Date controlled, it must have a Best Before Date otherwise it will be rejected as the best before date is unknown.
